Rahuri Semen Station

Rahuri Semen Station was established on 1st February 2016 at Rahuri, Ahmednagar, State –Maharashtra (India). It is a unit of NDDB Dairy Services. NDDB Dairy Services is a not-for-profit Company under section 25 of the Companies Act and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of NDDB. It functions as a delivery arm of the NDDB for field operations relating to promoting Producer Companies and Productivity Services. In light of providing affordable high-quality genetics to the dairy
farmers, NDDB Dairy Services, with its deep-rooted commitment, commissioned the Rahuri Semen station.

 

NDDB DS established a mega semen station in Rahuri with the objective to improve the genetic merit of Indian animals by the introduction of superior germplasm. Its core activity is to produce and supply frozen semen from genetically superior bulls of various breeds of cattle and buffalo, crossbred and exotic bulls to enhance the productivity of dairy animals in the country. The semen doses produced at the Rahuri are marketed under the common brand name SAG -‘Superior Animal Genetics’.

Rahuri Semen Station has the best professionals/ experts, who come from various private, cooperative and developmental sectors, to provide high-quality technical and management services to enhance the growth of the Indian Dairy Industry.

Rahuri Semen Station has been established and operates to serve the nation and the state of Maharashtra and nearby states in particular by providing high quality semen doses to the farmers at an affordable cost for increasing their income as well country’s milk production.

Our Achievements

Rahuri Semen Station is an “A “grade Semen Station of Country as evaluated by Central Monitoring Unit evaluations (CMU), Govt. of India. We are among the 4 mega semen stations owned/managed by NDDB Dairy Services. We produce Bovine frozen semen doses under the brand  “Superior Animal Genetics” (SAG^TM). Produced using advanced genetics and strict adherence to Minimum Standard Protocols as enshrined by Govt. of India, SAG^TM has evolved as the top-selling Bovine semen brand in the country.

Our team is well-experienced and strictly adheres to protocols & procedures to guarantee Quality Semen Production.

Our Bulls

Our Sire Directory boasts of 300 bulls, with 260 adults and 40 young bulls. All our breeding bulls are sourced from reputed institutions within the country which are implementing Progeny Testing Programme, Pedigree Selection Programme, Embryo Transfer Technology Programme and Nominated Mating Programme and made importation especially exotic breeds such as Jersey and Holstein Frisiean from Denmark and Germany. We also maintain a whopping 18 breeds of Cattle and 3 breeds of buffalo.
